Right now, the Department for Education Children and Young People is seeking welcoming and supportive homestay hosts to join our international student program for both short and long-term hosting opportunities, with an immediate focus on placements starting from Term 3, 2025.

Why host?

• Receive $660 per fortnight per student to help cover out-of-pocket costs (homestay payments are tax-exempt as assessed by the ATO).

• Join a vibrant network of over 200 host families across Tasmania.
• Host students typically in Grades 10–12, with flexible options to host one, two, or even three students.

Our hosts come from all walks of life – families, couples, singles, LGBTQI+, retirees, and empty nesters.

We take great care in matching students with the right hosts to ensure a positive and enriching experience for you.
