Congratulations to Emi who was a reserve member of the Tasmanian team that competed in the National Schools Debating Championships (NSDC) in May 2025. The National Schools Debating Championships (NSDC) are Australia's premier debating competition for secondary school students in Australia. Tasmania performed incredibly well, with a unanimous victory against the Australian Capital Territory and two split decision victories against the Northern Territory and Queensland (who were the eventual runners-up of the championship). Emi has also shown incredible leadership at Rosny College, helping to establish a debating team this year, and captaining our team.

In very exciting news, with the return of a debating team at Rosny College this year they made the semi-finals of the college debating competition, competing against Elizabeth College in week 9 against Elizabeth College. The semi-finals were proudly hosted at Rosny, and while the team didn’t come away with the win they are keen for the 2026 competition already!
