Rosny College students played a significant role in a recent Beacon youth led fundraising event, hosted by Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania, and Emeritus Professor Don Chalmers AO. The luncheon highlighted the achievements of two students: Asher, currently undertaking a School Based Traineeship with Earthworm, and Layla, a former student now employed as a Business Trainee with the Federal Group. Both students shared their experiences and future aspirations.

Our VET programs were instrumental in the event's success. Certificate II Hospitality students Sarah and Ivory managed Front of House duties, while Certificate II in Cookery students Mia and Rhys handled Back of House operations. Additionally, students Polly and Lottie excelled in assisting with floral arrangements alongside Inka Souris.

The event concluded with a stellar performance by students from our 2025 musical, Newsies who not only got to enjoy a special lunch but shared three shows from the production to various industry representatives.

Thank you to Her Excellency and the Beacon Foundation for inviting Rosny College staff and students to showcase the exceptional opportunities the College offers their students and the incredible talent at Rosny College. It was an extremely special day for all involved.
