Ten Days on the Island - Dreamgirls Taniwha
Visual Art students recently visited the Bellerive Boardwalk to witness the installation of Taniwha Time Machine, an artwork by the Dreamgirls Art Collective as part of 10 Days on the Island. For the students, the experience offered a valuable opportunity to engage with public art and understand how large-scale installations are installed.
In conjunction with 10 Days on the Island, Rosny College invited the Dreamgirl Collective to share their experience practice and cultural contexts for their Taniwha Time Machine Art installation. Students from both Rosny and Clarence High Schools participated and had the opportunity to witness professional practising artists chat informally and then ask questions to support their learning tasks. It was a really exciting opportunity and a big thanks goes out to Evelyn Murray for her amazing organisation and support of the project.
