INTRODUCING JODIE ALAM
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Leads Transition, Course Counselling and Retention
Hello everyone,
I am excited to join the team at Rosny College. I am a Secondary trained teacher who spent ten years working in High School and many years at Montagu Bay Primary. As my children grew older, my interest in high school teaching was reignited. Through their college experiences, I developed a deep connection with this age group. Working at Claremont College last year, I witnessed the untapped potential of emerging adults, fuelling my passion for teaching, leading, and counselling young people on the cusp of adulthood. My experiences last year, and so far at Rosny, have crystallised my ambition to further immerse myself in supporting and guiding this unique age group.
As Assistant Principal for Transition and Retention, my key areas of responsibility include:
- Oversight of the Transition Team and course change process.
- Being a member of the teggana Collective.
- Transition Events such as Jump Start, Enrolment Evenings, Parent/Carer Information Evenings and teggana High School visits.
- Youth Participation Database.
- Enrolments – preliminary, confirmed, shared and part-time.
- Careers and Pathways.
I am a passionate leader with a genuine urge to effect change, to be a part of a vibrant educational community, and to further my journey of personal and professional growth. I am convinced that together, we can foster an environment where students excel, educators feel valued, and every decision is grounded in both evidence and empathy. I look forward to the challenges and rewards which lie ahead.
