INTRODUCING DARREN SANGWELL
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Leads our Teaching and Learning Attainment
Firstly, and most importantly I’d like to invite all parents and carers to attend our ‘Meet the Teacher Evening’ on Tuesday 27th February at 5:30pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to talk briefly to your child’s teachers and create the important connection between teacher and parent/carer. We look forward to seeing you all there!
This year teachers have a specific focus on explicitly teaching every student the literacy needs for each course. Already teachers have identified the reading comprehension of their courses and are working with our Quality Teaching Coach to enhance our ability to assist students with the skills needed.
Knowing our students and their learning needs is an important part of our work as teachers. In mid-March we will be communicating with parents of students with Learning Plans to approve or amend how we differentiate for your young person’s needs. We will also be writing to all parents with students studying level 3 and 4 courses (pre-tertiary courses) about the Reasonable Adjustment processes for students with exams and/or folios.
At Rosny College we strive to meet the learning needs of all students. I look forward, in future editions of our newsletter, to introduce key members of our team, as well as programs that are in place for our full range of students, including our Career Counsellor, High Achievers Coordinator and our Attainment and Short Course Coordinator.
I look forward to meeting you all on Tuesday 27th February at our Meet the Teacher Evening!
